INSTRUCTION

Desideria has had over 30 years experience in perfoming Arts since a child of 3. Over 20 actually performng as an Burlesque, Featured cabaret, and professional Flamenco, Middle Eastern, Jazz dancer and singer/percussionist. As well as a Group choreographer and Instructor In many forms and styles of Ethnic dance, theater Arts and costuming. Desideria is no stranger to the stage as an innovator in performance. She brings her many years of experience and knowledge to her students. In Theater Dance Art, costume design, presence, performance skills , wardrobe setting and make up. Now teaching Private, Semi Private and group classes.

The art of belly dance affirms a woman's femininity at any age, promoting acceptance of the body, regardless of shape
or size. Belly dancing keep you fit, keeps you centered, improves posture, and strengthens stomach muscles. More importantly, overall toning leads to weight loss, improves self-image, and improves self-confidence. Belly dancing often focuses on the isolation of different parts of the body that move independent of each other in sensuous patterns.

Belly Dancing is for all ages, races and sizes!!

Instruction:

Belly Dance:
(Raq Shaki) : is so feminine and powerful. The control of your precise body movements strengthens the core and looks simply beautiful. You’ll learn the basic moves, travel steps, theory, rhythms, combinations, and choreography. Each class is 1 hour and 15 minutes and meets for 4 consecutive weeks. Two levels of classes are available.

Chakra Belly Dance:
You will learn bellydance isolation movements that stimulate the chakras which improves energy flow and control throughout the body. I also emphasize on the traditional bellydance vocabulary of which includes isolation, geometry, location, enunciation, combination, and channeling. I encourage my students to express themselves freely and build your own personal style from this traditional art form.

This class will consist of yoga/Pilate warmups/cooldowns, stretching( bring mat)
These classes consist of an basic vocabulary of Middle Eastern dance

What to wear to class:
Please dress comfortable. You may wear lycra tights, leggings, t shirt, danskin outfits, bring a a scarf.......
I will be having zills, scarves, veils and other props to lend/sell.

What to bring to class:
An exercise mat, water, snack, flats, a towel anything you need to feel comfortable and refreshed....

Or you may come the first day/night to register......
These classes are 4 weeks long to insure steady concentration and learning experience..

A open introduction to Dark Cabaret Belly dance...... Learn the fundamental moves, techniques and varied styles of the Dark dance...

This class will consist of yoga/Pilate warmups/cooldowns, stretching( bring mat)
These classes consist of an basic vocabulary of Middle Eastern dance moves with a darker edg set to a eclectic blend of Gothic/Metal look and style, ..... to a mix of Different genres of Rock music( Electronica, Ambiant, Gothic, Metal, Industrial). I will also be teaching Macabre presentation, Dramatic expression, theatrical makeup/costumes for a Darker setting.   To be performed in Theater productions, nightclubs, rock concerts and Gothic events.

Please dress comfortable. You may wear lycra tights, leggings, t shirt, danskin outfits, bring a a scarf.......

Discover the mysterious allure and mystique of belly dance . We bring silk veils, candles and music to set the mood. You will leave the party being able to perform fluid combinations of the moves you’ve learned. Learn The Basics of Sensual Belly Dance. Very Fun, will include hip scarfs for dancing.

A continuation of the dark dance with a more sensual and risque allure...... Learn the fundamental moves, techniques and varied styles of the exotic dance with a Dark look, theatrical drama, sensual moves, and cabaret styling , dance with boas, chairs and exotic allure....

This class will consist of yoga/Pilate warmups/cooldowns, stretching( bring mat)
These classes consist of an eclectic blend of Burlesque/Gothic look, Cabaret presentation, Jazz,, Theater Dance with an erotic edge!..... We will be learning moves to a mix of Different genres of Rock music( Dark Jazz, Cabaret, Gothic, Metal, Industrial) I will also be teaching more theatrical presentation, Sensual entrance and performance skills, expression, dramatic makeup/costumes for a Darker and more intriguing setting.   To be performed in Theater productions, Burlesque, nightclubs and rock concerts and Gothic events.
